I’m renovating a house for my parents, my mom wanted a fireplace so I put a bowl of old coins in the space behind the fire box before I sealed it up, some coins were already over 100 years old and hopefully the house stands for another 100 years. I can’t imagine finding a cache of 200 year old coins while doing renovations. I know some day someone will make the find of a lifetime. Glad others have the same idea

That's Great! I like doing stuff like that, too! In just about every house I worked on, I hid time capsules in various places. The last one I did, I hid a bowl full of 2018 coins along with some 2017 star notes in the soffit above the kitchen cabinets. I also put a local newspaper that I bought that day inside a plastic tube along with it.
