A cull is a coin that has little/no numismatic value. Often badly worn or damaged. Ferinstance, Buffalo nickels with worn-off dates are considered culls. My bent Walker half, though otherwise in EF condition, is a cull.

Cull vs error coins? So again new to this collecting treasure hunting business and hubby I was reading something today that referenced cull,is a cull coin and an error coin the same thing?

No. A cull coin is generally a coin that is only worth it's face value or the value of the metal it is made from due to excessive wear and has no collectible value. An Error coin is just that (i.e. any coin that suffered an error pre-strike or during the striking or minting process) at the Mint it was struck at. Some Error coins have value above their' face value and some don't. The value is mostly based on the condition of the coin and the significance of the error.
