These are some of my latest paper shotshell headstamp finds. I don't save the plastic hull type.

I've got a bunch. I was planning on inserting them into table top someday.
Most of them are the same, with the oldest having some small stamped date on the primer 1919? Can't remember.
I'll take a look this evening.

Hundreds. But I don't save them. Though I do use them to gauge the age of activity.

I even find enough deer slugs to keep them and remelt them for my muzzleloader balls. Apparently my property was a good spot to shoot in the 1960's and 1970's. One rotted Hemlock laying trunk had about 15 lbs of lead in it!

I’ve found quite a few this winter, as the rest of the ground froze before getting a coating of snow on it. I researched them and learned quite a bit about the companies, mergers of companies, and dating the headstamps. Everything that I’ve found has come from the late 1920’s to the mid 1930’s. The area has lots of glacial cuts in it, so it wasn’t good for much other than hunting. The family that owned it donated all the unusable land to our county Metroparks system, but it had been well hunted prior to that. Also found lots of .22 casings and lead projectiles. Lots of buckshot as well. The woods has a healthy population of small game and deer. I’ve actually been hoping to find any sort of relic or coins that hunters may have dropped back then, to donate to the small park museum. If I hunt long enough I’ll find something.
