Yesterday, I'm detecting next to an intersection on a 4 lane and 2 lane road.
The site is very trashy, so I'm concentrating on signals.
I hear skidding and crash.
Look up and maybe 50 feet away there is a car, with the whole side wiped out and the rear tire cockeyed, looks like it's about to fall off.
From what I can figure, the driver tried to take the turn too fast and hit curb and jumped it.
I take a few steps back, to walk around to the driver's side to check on them.
Just as I do that, the driver accelerates right by me, jumps back over the curb with sparks flying and goes down a side road.
I most likely wouldn't be writing this, if:
I had got to the site a minute or two earlier and moving on the track that I was, I would have been hit when the car missed the turn.
I had stepped left instead of right to check on passengers, I would have been a hood ornament.
I don't know if it was luck, fate or help from a greater power that put me where I was at that moment.
Once again this reminds me that at times you have no control of your future.
What will be, will be.

more importantly did you find anything good?:laughing7: Glad you are ok. I personally enjoy detecting as far away from people/ cars/ the world in general as possible. What was the attraction to the sight?

WOW :o
Glad you're ok!

Reminds me of the time when my husband was building I-75 through N. Florida.

Him & the company owners daughter, were standing behind her pick-up truck, on the side of the highway talking.... next thing you know,
There's a tractor trailer tire rolling right between them, up the back of the truck & crashed into the back windsheid & cab.

Had they been one step to the left or one step to the right, or,
if Snow had a been sitting in the truck.... :BangHead:
(Yeah, the company owners' daughter real name is, Snow White, lawl….) :laughing7:
You just can't make that kinda stuffs up.... :laughing7:

Glad you were OK! :icon_thumleft:

Why would they leave the scene after banging up the car? :dontknow: With the damage to the rear tire they couldn't have gone to far.

There's a not so nice apartment complex down the side road.
I'm guessing that's where the they going to begin with.
I don't how the car was rolling, the rear tire was all but falling off.
If was a RWD there's no way that it could have moved.
I still not sure how they wiped out the driver's side, unless the car got on it's side.

Amen. Stone Wall Jackson was a devout Christian man with the strictest heartfelt duty to God and the Cause. He knew what he was talking about and was indeed ready on the day he crossed over the river and rested under the shade of the trees.

Deep 1 I'm glad you were in the Right place and were not injured. It sounded as if your guardian angel was on duty that day.
