I've done the same in the Past Gare.

it's sort of Tuff where you try to Remove Rust from Something that is 100% Rust when ya start :coffee2:

Sort of Reminds me of my Teens.
Someone would say "Wash that Car" & I'd say, "The Dirt is Holding it Together " :laughing7:

as long as they can be recognized,
I've since Graduated to Liking my Relics the way they pop out the Ground.

would you support a Face Lift for a 109 year old Woman ?
her Knees would end up on her Shoulders.

Jeff your words are so true. This was my FIRST attempt at Electrolysis . Who knows i MAY try it again on a coin
thanks for your replies

This is the one I found last Tuesday. I cleaned this one with vinegar. I might also add this lock was made mostly of Brass

Only coins I was somewhat Happy I Used Electrolysis on was War Nickels.
And silver dimes that Collected rust from Iron.

Of course after awhile I even regretted that, Because the Electrolysis Removed the Story.
Example the Mercs in the Slot machine were turned Black with a Tar type Substance.
After cleaning, I Couldn't Show & Tell anymore :tongue3:

Of course in order to ID I Have used it on Lincolns, Large Cents, & Etc including Tokens

Electrolysis works Particularly well on Aluminum Tokens With Rot spots
Used it many times on Antique Car Coins

and This Button
1234.JPG 5678.JPG
Which had absolutely No Detail.

I've destroyed Gold Electroplated Rings Too.
It only takes 3 Seconds to remove the Entire Gold Covering

I've Given up on it. I Left my Electrolysis Setup in my House when I Moved out.
Was a Hand Made. Cell Phone Charger, Alligator Clips & a large Bucket of Stainless Steel Forks & Spoons.
But Haven't used it for Years. If I were to ever dig another Button or Token I Absolutely Want to ID I May
build a New one, But that's the Only way.
