Knew there was a reason I shut my gate yesterday.
Every once in awhile it keeps unwanted visitors out.

I don't mind participating in the constitutional process, especially if it means I am ensured representation.

Go beyond that and I start having some issues.
This census is much tamer than Y2K.

I got 2 cards a Month apart to do it Online & save them $$ I ignored because I Didn't want them to have my Email address & IP.
then I Got the Questionnaire in the Mail.
I filled it out Was Extremely Short. & Stuck it in the Mail.
a Month Later I Got another Notice if I Don't send it in they will send someone to My door.
in a way I wish I would have waited. I live in a security Building, I Would have Liked seeing them get in & Find Me
Of course This way they won't even have a reason to try or stalk me.

Pretty Much All I really needed to do was tell them I was a White Male American over 60

I Think I Listed My Race as white & American.
They don't need to Know My Great , Great , Great , Great , Great , Great , Great , Great , Grandparents were Dinosaur Farmers
in a community called Ja-Bip

On line Census was quick and easy. I am not worried about no G-Man coming to my door!

The only one I had a problem with was giving my smart phone number.

Even the IRS doesn't contact you by phone to ask personal questions.
Why would the Census? Just begging for identity theft scams.

"Hello, I'm from the US Census, I have a few questions about how you filled the census out, can I start by having you verify your address and social security number?"

Phone numbers are a direct tie to an IP address as well as a continuously updated locations.

Tie names to residences, to online activity, to your location at any given time.

"I Don't give Personal info over the phone"

'If your from the census you already have it. Just go by What is in front of you !"

" & if you don't have it, Perhaps that's a good Thing !"

but Obviously there are allot of easy Marks out there !

Well it's interesting that they are building a database of phone numbers.
Cost savings...I'm sure..

I wonder if I clearly fill out every portion of the survey EXCEPT my phone number if they will pay me a visit to gather that data?

What's also interesting..,after 6 failed attempts to meet you at your home, they will talk to neighbors to try and get the information!!

If a G-Man is coming to your door you can get rid of them quick by discussing metal detecting with them.

In 2020, I took it as far as I felt comfortable.

I remember them saying this was their last attempt and I would be fined and possibly face jail time if I didn't sit down with them and answer their questions.
I distinctly remember how violated it made me feel.

I will not give my phone number on this survey.

They basically wants to know if I was still breathing and whether anyone else lived with me. Pretty short and non intrusive. Took me less than a minute online to complete.

I only ever had one Census taker Knock at my door. It was a Neighbor from across the street.
80's or early 90's I Think . She just came in and Pretty much Told me what she put on it.
sort of like a Check List with me saying " Yep, Yep Yep. Okeedoke " smiled & Rolled my Eyes .
Not even sure why she felt she had to waste the energy to walk over
