Thanks for the "Heads Up" TH!!

I have seen on some other detecting forums that they are having similar issues.

I've personally had none lately, but have in the past on here. If I remember right, I notified Admin on a couple or more. Haven't seen them folks on here since. Looks like Admin here jumped on them pretty quick and they "just disappeared".

We got good people handling the admin of this site :)

Thank you guys for protecting us minor entities......

I haven't been approached. I did see one new post the person seems to have disappeared now. That's what happens when you have had your happy nap.

Online friends are useless. They can’t make coffee, and are too cheap to pick one up at the store down the street.

spammers are people who live in their basement and try to run the world from there......

Nah, my basement is made outta mud. I just hide in the upstairs of my house with my 94 y/o Mom living on the first floor - never did get her into TNet, but she influenced me to get on-line in 1983. She's still on-line even today, and here I am coming back up from supper :)

I just invited Mom to join TreasureNet. I pray she does, as she has lived a very long life, and just may teach us something we've never thought of before.

I should have invited her here years ago. If she does join, I'll let ya'll know what her member name is.

FYI, mods have banned 60+ spammers today alone. If you
get a friend request from someone who just signed up today let a mod know so we can check
them out. A couple may have slipped through the cracks.

Back when my Australian buddy and I had our amateur astronomy website,
it was not unusual for us to get hit with these kinds of attacks every so often.
Someday's it got so bad I'd end up temporarily banning blocks of IP numbers
just to shut them down. Option 2 was to require that all new registrations,
following a history check on their IP, be approved by Admin.

Either way, it's a PITA for mods and admin's. Thanks for watching
our backs..

this appears to have been a New cam Porn Site.

not sure if they are having an organized membership drive where they earned something,
or if the girls just did it on their own. I'd guess the former

Sorry I Will not Give them the Benefit of Advertising the full name of their Site.

if left alone they would have made pornographic profiles then friended as many members as they could,
figuring members would check who's friending them.

If there are other Websites on the Net, Hopefully they Moved on to Them.

I think there is a Site called facebook they can hit :coffee2:

It happens every day, just hasn't happen to the degree it happened yesterday in a while. We do have tricks that catches 99% of them before they post but this was new type of attack and took a little time to get new trick to catch and stop these. Dont want to reveal how so they dont figure out how to work around it.

I feel kinda dumb. I accepeted before looking at the profile then promptly unfriended them. But the profile was already banned at the time. Thanks for the heads up Ill pay more attention next time.
