Recession; downward trend in the business cycle. Bank and CU coin counters closed.

It was mentioned briefly in the news Friday that in a town some where for every $100 in coins turned in you'd get an extra $5. They didn't mention the town, so i wonder.

Take 'em to Wal-Mart; wife & I got bills back. They even counted the coins, forget the banks... too many "restrictions" (roll 'em, baby!)

Woah. Yesterday while standing in line at the store, I watched six people in front of me not only paying cashless, but digitally!

    It has begun...

I went to the gas station the other day, to pick up a $1.00 Lotto ticket. I told the clerk I heard there was a coin shortage, and I was here to help, so I handed him 5 dimes and 50 pennies !

Charles Garrett is quoted as saying there are more coins in the ground than in circulation. I believe it. ╦╦C

Today, a gallon of gas still costs about two silver dimes. Now our government can just print money out of thin air, sunshine, and happiness.

By the way, I am going to turn in two years' worth of detected and tumbled clad tomorrow. I'm sure that will help alleviate the national change shortage!
In 1850, a twenty dollar gold piece could buy the best suit on the rack. Today, that same twenty dollar gold piece will still buy the best suit on the rack. Not so a paper twenty, or even five paper hundreds. ╦╦C

Which department store today will take a $20 gold piece for nice suit? This isn’t 1850

At one of my local grocery stores they have a sign on the Coinstar machine saying that they will take you change and count it for no fee at the customer service counter.
