Gun powder flask, anyone confirm this and date it

I found several images online. One very similar was listed as 1848 Colt black powder flask. Others as Civil War Era. Cool find!

Looks quite similar to one I found but I'd have to go back n find pics. Mine was 1880ish Colt non military but any time I see Eagles and shields I get excited. I only got the front half. Nice work!
