When you look at an old box wrench or open end wrench, do you see a horse? Or do you see the horse first, then decide what components to use? Just curious. The horse is very cool.

it started with a request for a horse . it was to be mounted on the barn of a pony ride business in northern Va. so I see the horse first and then
I start to thinking and do lots of digging through the many boxes of scrap metal , the thought put into it takes much longer than the build it's self, often hours. I line stuff up , bend stuff up ,and then start welding.
It's a hobby mostly but I do make a little money doing it..

Solid body telecaster made from an endangered cuban mahogany tree that blew over in hurricane irma. I have an urban logging company called Flipfloploggers, we harvest storm felled and permitted takedowns of the hardwoods here in the Florida keys. We transport the fallen giants to our sawmill and transform them into slabs and lumber. From there the lumber and slabs are stacked, stickered, and dried. We take this wood and create all sorts of art with it, and we sell it to many other craftsmen and artist. We make all sorts of furniture and a bunch of other projects. I grew up with the tree that this guitar was made from and knew it as a living breathing giant for 20+ years. I have honored this trees death with turned bowls, gutiars, tables, and benches to immortalize this trees life. I love making art when I can and often make things from my metal detected finds also......ill dig up some pieces and post them when I can. What a cool thread.....many great talents here at T-net !!

Here is a live edge shelf and corbels made from protected willow bustic hard wood. Also a mosaic made from pottery and glass shards from one of my detecting sites. Built the shelf to hold some of my black glass finds.

I am a certified Bob Ross instructor although I no longer teach.

This picture is a combination of wet on wet (Bob Ross) and tradition oils, back ground is wet on wet, wolf is traditional oil.
