What are you using for blade material? Grinder is awesome.

This one is 1095 carbon steel. I started with 2x12" piece 3/16 thick. It's a little over 15" long by some finessing on the cut. I'll lose a little length when I mount the handle, but the overall length will be close to 14". Sambar stag and nickel silver furniture will go on it. Thanks for the compliment!

Here is an old piano that I decommissioned and turned into a wine center for a customer. The goal was to keep it looking as much like the original piano as possible.

Photobucket is holding my photos hostage until I pay their ransom, hence their mark appears on the image.

On the photobucket thing...yessir they shot themselves in the foot. Can you imagine how many people they peeved beyond belief? They have about 2000 of mine with their stinking logo all over where you can't see detail. They will never be used again. Blasting the pix the way they did can't possibly do any good at getting new customers. It bothered me that some of my builds that I had online were affected but I managed to re-submit pix after the sites I was on went to hosting their own photos like this forum does.

View attachment 1889910 using the old 1957 delta lathe to turn some blanks into replica cannons. These mahogany replicas will be used to make wax models....then they will be used in the lost wax process to pour bronze replica cannons. View attachment 1889911

Hope to turn some replicas of the 1733 fleet minature cannons found by my now deceased friend Chuck "shaggy cannon" Mitchell !! View attachment 1889915 they were silver and meant for king phillip the fith. View attachment 1889916 here are some of the mahogany cannon plugs already in inventory. You can see a bronze one on the bench in the back ground. They weigh 55, and 75 pounds when done. Super excited to get involved with this project, and I'm turning more cannons to expand our selection !!

Until last year my wife and I owned a Quilt shop. Personally i find traditional quilting to be boring but the non traditional variants of making Whole cloth quilts caught my attention.

For those who don't know quilting, a whole cloth quilt is two flat pieces of fabric with batting in the middle. The design in the quilt is completely made by stitches.

I designed and quilted three wall hangings. Each wall hanging is is about 50" x 50" The First was a traditional whitework whole cloth with trapunto. Trapunto is a technique used to give a 3 dimension look.

The second was a white whole cloth with shadow Trapunto. By adding colored felt between the layers you get a shadow affect.
If you put light behind the cloth the effect is very dramatic

And the third was an image i created from three different photographs. The images were transferred to a whole cloth using a photo process called Cyanotype and then quilted.

I dabble in scrap metal art as well when it is slow at work. First is the bull skull made from control arms and exhaust pipes. Second is a spider from wiper blades and an oil filter.

ps ticndig your artwork is amazing. hope to be at your level someday.
