    Homemade sand scoop

    Getting ready for a local beach hunt in a few days, so i threw this scoop together. Ugly but works lol.Click image for larger version.

    PVC is great. It's tough, you can work it easily with tools, and it won't scratch those valuable coins. I made a hand scoop from PVC and it works great. Gary

    while I salute your ingenuity, dont try to use that in the water or even wet sand. I'd be very cautious using it in dry sand even. There is a reason beach guys use scoops made from stainless and HD aluminum. Even many of those fail much earlier that expected.
