Cool House Was Purchased in NY full of prohibition whisky!

Did anyone see this story? A guy buys a house and the prior owner was rumored to be s moonshine maker in the 1920's. He had filled his walls with his moonshine!

Smugglers perhaps. But moonshiners no...those bottles are sealed and labeled for marketing and bonded in the U.K.

I wonder how much those would sell for, they might be able to finance all the repairs to the house from 1 or 2 bottles.

A bottle of Old Smuggler sold at auction for about 500 bucks from the 40s. So they may get you a little ways if you were so inclined. £460 to be exact. Though there were only 3 bidders. It was a 10 year old scotch. Aged in sherry barrels.

Campari owns them now. It’s around 15 bucks a bottle. Brrrrr sounds like it will put a hurt on you. It looks like it’s never been a particularly high end brand. They used “economical” in the marketing literature frequently which is always a bad sign.
