After watching an episode of Unearthed Troy
Homers Trojan Horse could of been describing a siege tower, I also think "The Trojan Horse" could of been a slur talking about Troys slaves. The whole story reminds me of an old testament story where a "slave" helps an army enter a city.
I think the Greeks were hoping "The Trojan Horses" Troys slaves, would revolt and help with the siege. Which most likely happened. I would say a slave revolt was probably the main reason for the Greeks final victory.
It seems the Greeks turned soldiers out of Trojan horses.
