maybe using the possibility of parks being sued would help with the parks / recreation commissions

If memory serves me, we went from the can that had to be opened with a church key...



Then, there was a "Push" to come up with an alternative...

Coors came out with this option, the push tab...



You pushed in the tabs to open the can and the tabs stayed inside...



Most people couldn't push them in, and we they came out with what we have now!

Unfortunately, we will always have the bozos that have to bend the tab back and forth until it finally separates from the can so they can throw it on the ground. That's what the real problem is, no shortage of Bozos!

And I witnessed a number of guys use their pinky finger to push in the larger tab... and then pull out a bloody pinky! Fortunately, the Coors was still drinkable.

That was my First Thought

Were these in the U.S. ? I've never seen them

Yes they were in the mid 70s. I think that Coors beer distribution was still limited to the U.S. West of the Mississippi River. I was stationed in Oklahoma at the time and I recall bringing Coors beer to Connecticut when I went home on leave. I thought that it might help my chances with the chicks. Not a “snowball’s chance...”.

Yea I Remember there was some Issue with Coors.
I Think I learned it through a Smokey & The Bandit Movie

Though I'm sure I Sold allot of it in the 80's / 90's I can't say I ever tasted it which " is not germane to the situation."
