I will Start this posting off. On February 25 2021 Myself and my Wife got Covid shots . First shots in a series of 2 required. At noon on the 25th we both got our shots at the same place . Neither of us were sick with no symptoms of anything what so ever. Later in the day my arm started hurting in the arm i got the shot in. Nothing bad though. My wifes arm started hurting about the same time. Then she started getting dizzy, Cold chills back , Neck and head started hurting. She could hardly sleep the night. The next morning she was having a terrible time with pain all over. I called the VACCINE COMPANY HELP LINE (what a joke) They told me they could not talk about other peoples problems. I told them they could tell us if not to JUST SCARE everyone into taking the shots. I did not ask for ANYONE's personal info just general info. They walked me through checking symptoms on the web. NOT MUCH HELP at all.

A neighbor told me the symptoms might last 24 to 48 hours.

I was just wondering about others on here if they had any issues with the Vaccine

Please report if you have had your shots

My wife (a Registered Nurse) got her first shot with a little soreness in her arm and nothing more. The second shot she felt like she had the flu for 24-hours, then she was fine.

And no one knows what it will do long term as the testing on it was shortened by years, including the testing on animals. So if the modified DNA vaccines give folks cancer in 5 years its just too bad. That's the problem with experimental vaccines, which these are. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine was approved today. 1 shot. It is made in the "old style" like vaccines have been made in the past. It also is still approved for experimental use, not fully approved. All three are in the same boat.

REMEMBER, as experimental vaccines, if something happens to us, it's just too bad. Can't sue them or anything. My doctor told me to wait and I am NOT going to be the first one to get the J&J vaccine either. After all the creative lying the government did earlier - it won't be bad here, don't wear a mask, save them for the health professionals, yeah, wear a mask, actually wear two. All that - I don't trust them.

Just call me cranky, but with my allergies, it could be a two stepper - two steps and I'm dead. Or not. Maybe I'll find out by summer. I would also want it administered at a real health facility, not a drive by shed.

I have been self administering Rum.

Have been thinking along the lines of...

1. If blood is more Rum than blood... covid cant live.

2. If covid enters bloodstream it will become too drunk to do anything.

3. Covid will actually like the fact I have Rum and leave me alone.

:P

I had double pneumonia in my 20's and have scar tissue on my lungs. Covid would probably kill me. For that reason I took the chance on the vaccine. Got my first shot the 23rd. I'm not a gambler, but in this case I felt like I had no choice. Gary

I got the shot yesterday. About 8 hours later, my arm hurt, and still does. I understand the way the mRNA vaccines work, and I personally believe the risk of something bad happening in 5 years is low (there is no evidence of spike proteins from coronaviruses causing cancer, and the 2 approved vaccines work by telling your muscle tissue to generate spike proteins; at least that is the way I understand it. We know, however, that this coronavirus can cause long-term organ damage).

Life is about tradeoffs. Covid is not just about the death rate, but other negative outcomes. Organ damage as mentioned, "long covid", which is the fact that 30% of those who get symptoms can have them for up to 9 months. I don't want my beer tasting like dish soap for 9 months :)

You take a chance by taking it, or by not taking it. IMHO, the odds favor taking it. Someone has to be first, and death is the price we pay for progress. If I die in 5 years due to something bad from an mRNA vaccine, at least I'll die knowing I contributed to science and those who follow.

I will take it when I get notified it’s my turn. If the number of infections drop so low before that I’ll reconsider. I’d prefer the single JJ shot but it won’t be widely available for weeks. I think the epidemic is fizzling out on its own and with so called herd immunity being approached. If it were me I’d be like soon time to open everything up, masks optional keep vaccinating and testing.

The occurrence rate has dropped from 9.3% January 8 to about 3.6% yesterday here in Maryland. If it keeps going, for healthy folks it might not be even worth worrying about in a month or two. One guy from the CDC said last week by the end of April, which is coming up fast, the virus itself will be on the way out. I wish. But all viruses like these eventually burn out. We just don't know when.

In the province of Ontario the portal to book an appointment for the general population will open March 15th-for those of the age of over 80/85 yrs of age.
Now if there is enough supply the over 60 yrs of age will be in the June time period. I love the "Ifs" of any report-timeline

For myself herd immunity will be my best option-when that happens is anyone's guess.
Having ALPHA-1 which led to Bronchiectasis the specialists just say stay away.

I didn't say it changed DNA. Everything we take into ourselves has an effect on us. I was trying to manually siphon some water off the boat cover, as it was trying to melt but there was a lot of weight there. I did it like my dad once taught me, manually and had put left over rock salt in it to hasten the melt. I got almost half a mouthful of dirty salty water and swallowed it. Made my bp go up a bit that night, but I drank a lot of water and got rid of the excess salt. Hope I don't get worms...

It was developed quickly because researchers world wide worked on it at the same time with unlimited funding which has never happened in the past and covid19 is a member of the Corona family of virus which has been studied for the last 50 years.

"Researchers were not starting from scratch when they learned about SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.SARS-CoV-2 is a member of the coronavirus family. According to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, there are hundreds of coronaviruses — including four that can cause the common cold, as well as the coronaviruses that sparked the SARS, or severe acute respiratory syndrome, epidemic in 2002 and the emergence of MERS, or Middle East respiratory syndrome, in 2012.

Dr. Eric J. Yager, an associate professor of microbiology at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Albany, NY, told MNT that scientists have been studying coronaviruses for over 50 years. This meant scientists had existing data on the structure, genome, and life cycle of this type of virus."

"Dr. Yager explained, “Research on these viruses established the importance of the viral spike (S) protein in viral attachment, fusion, and entry, and identified the S proteins as a target for the development of antibody therapies and vaccines.”

"Dr. Yager said that thanks to advances in genomic sequencing, researchers successfully uncovered the viral sequence of SARS-CoV-2 in January 2020 — roughly 10 days after the first reported pneumonia cases in Wuhan, China. The ability to fast-track research and clinical trials was a direct result of this worldwide cooperation."

The Mrs and myself were just chatting about SARS and what it was like living here the centre of it happening back in 2002. The Scarborough General was one of the epicentres for SARS and living just 3 miles away from that, and having a business that dealt with medical equipment, folks that went into the facilities it really wasn't a big thing as what this Virus has done. Kind of strange actually when we thought about it.

My wife and I, are not getting the vaccine. They came up with it way to soon, to trust it. Why haven't they been able to come up with vaccines for other illnesses this quickly ?
