I am visiting a friend who just moved to
Tuscon in the beginning of April.
Can anyone point us towards some
older areas where we might
be able to find something?
Looking for foundations,
railroad areas, old military areas,
old camp spots, mining areas, etc.
I have never been there, but would
be open to meeting up with me and
my friend. Thanks! Sent me a PM if
you can help or want to meet up.
Both of us have been hunting for
years now.

Just wanted to say "thanks" to none of you.
You have been a great help.
I thought there were at least a few nice folks out there in Tuscon.

Not many people are going to tell you the best places to detect in their town. Why would they? You want to raid their area, grab some coins and relics and go back home? Not gonna happen...

I have a couple of thoughts.

First, it's "Tucson". Locals will chastise you for your spelling and, two, bring a small miner's pick. The ground is harder than anything you have likely ever seen.

I'm moving to Denver after living in Tucson since 1984 so I'll PM you with some ideas in the hope someone will return the favor for me in Denver. I won't give-up my truly historic spots (or do I expect anyone would for me) but some ideas for newbies won't hurt. Good luck.

Thanks Sparlo. You have been nice. I understand others might be hesitant, I can understand that. But occasionally there are some good folks who don't feel threatened. Sure also that there are variables like not knowing how that next person will treat those spots. Guess you made your point FreebirdTim. It's not easy to find spots in a town you have never been to before. I was hoping that it might make it easier on my friend and I. He just moved there a month or so ago.
