They only detect Chinese coins silly

Maybe I should buy a CANADIAN detector then, given the exchange rate... ;)

Sure do.. My grandma lived beside the Trail Drive Inn, just east of Anstead, WV. She would take us with her to do her shopping in Fayettville, of course back then there was no New River Gorge bridge, so we got to take the scenic route over Gauley Mountain and through Gauley Bridge. Good looking country down there, lotta history around the gorge. Did you ever do any good, detecting around there?

Good to hear from another WV Hillbilly.

gmstreet, I have done a little detecting around Ansted. If you go down into the New River Gorge at Hawk's nest park, and take a boat up the river a piece (less than a mile) both sides of the river are railroad property. Back in the 1800's there were coal mining camps all along the river (both sides). In fact, the bridge that crosses the river/lake at the bottom of the hill was built in 1870. It's all grown up into woods now, but I was able to do a little detecting there. I found some interesting stuff. If you get a chance, give it a swing. I am pretty sure there are signs that point to the park out on Rt. 60. BTW, my parents lived in Ansted for a while, that's how I know about the coal mining camps down on the river.
