Yes pennies will read a different vdi number because of different metal over years

Yeah I was dumb before say what, most of you knew that copper gives different reading than zinc or whatever used today, point is dig it don?t pass over something good numbers help but ot always accurate. What are pennies made of now vs way back to educate us all, thankyou

In 1943 pennies were made of zinc coated steel. Some of the pennies from the mid 1940's were made from "shell case copper" which was metal derived from recycled artillery shells.
