Cabin Fever Post: Innovative search terms for search engines

Well it was inevitable that the cold weather would make digging nearly impossible. This time of year I like to start to plan for the warmer weather.

I looked back at some of my better finds and how I found the sites. Many of the best ones came from thinking outside the box. Here are some of the search terms that paid off in the past. What are some terms that you have used?

"Ruins (your town or county name)"
"cellar hole (your town or county name)"
"post card (your town or county name)"
"historic photo (your town or county name)"
"hiking trail (your town or county name)"
"historic map (your town or county name)"
"old home site (your town or county name)"
"wooded area (your town or county name)"
"(historic name) (your town or county name)"
"(historic name) genealogy (your town or county name)"

There are many others, but these are the ones that come to mind. The use of quotes in search engines will narrow down the results, for example "Benjamin Harrison" will get more accurate results than Benjamin Harrison (no quotes) so play with it a little. I hope it is helpful.
