I read a thread on here sometime back about this subject . If I remember correctly someone
said their local car wash emptied the containers out back of the car wash somewhere . They also
said they detected or searched through the contents & made some pretty good finds .

There was an article about treasures in car wahes. It was i believe a 2006 issue. I have the issue at home and try to dig it up. Some car wahes are already aware of the vacuum treasure and losk those bottom doors.

Thanks. I was wondering where the contents went, dumpster, pile out back, sucked out of large container by a truck vac. I'd dig through a pile of sand, dirt, junk and sift out the coins, rings etc.

Depends on the area.

Some sift through it themselves.
Some just Let the Garbage man take them
Others have somone who stops by Weekly & Takes them
for Searching.

IF You Know the Owners of a Car wash,
Offer to replace the Bags once a week
if you can Take the Full ones home.

I would guess Spring would be the Best time because Everything builds up
over the Winter.

Most don't have bags. A small flowerbed shovel is a good too to use to scrape the vacs out. You can expect probably 3 30 gal trash cans for every 2 vacs depending on size. Watch for broken glass, needles, and other sharp objects. Heavy gloves are pretty much mandatory-also be prepared fo a foul smell since a lot of people tend to vac their cars after forgetting to roll up their windows before a rainstorm. Other than that, you'd be suprised what all gets vac'd out.
