does the light go out?

I recently got a whites xlt and I am wondering if the light on the charger goes out when the batteries are charged. How low does everyone let the batteries go before charging and how long do you charge them.

it has been a long time since I used the stock battery and charger(bat died,charger transformer went later).
do you have the manual?or you can download from white's site.I do not remember the light issue.I would
charge in slow setting for a certain time interval to voltage in battery ratio(if I remember correctly).

I now use rechargeable nimh AA's with automatic charger.my xlt still runs strong.
