GOOD IDEA ????

I bought my son a Tesoro Toltec 80 from a Whites dealer for $50.00. He is 10 years old, was this a good or bad idea?? Here is a pic.

Thanks for the post. I forgot to tell you all that I paid for the detector with the change I found this year. My total for silver clad was $80.00 I have not counted the pennies yeat. I put a sling on the detector so my son could carrie it easaly. I think it will work great. we are going out Saturday to a local school. I hope he findes something good so he will get hucked. Wish us luck.

Very good idea for getting him that machine. It's a good one. Bad idea for the weight of the box, but you put it on a sling. Good start. A hipmount might be better. He'll probably STILL whip you on coin shooting.

That was definitely a good idea. Now he will have his own detector and have fun with you. A used Tesoro still holds a pretty good value.

Can't go wrong with a tesoro. Looks a little on the heavy side.
