HI! i have a bunch of metal laying around that i want to melt down. I know very little about it and i dont have much to spend. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Forget this idea. It is not cheap nor safe to undertake. If you were to melt anything down, you still need to sell it. It is best to sell at a scrap yard for the most return on the pound.
