After about a month of flawless detecting with the BH - Quick Silver. It is doing something weird. In certain places the machine freaks out. After turning it on and waiting for the two beeps, it goes off and beeps like iron, zinc, 5 cent, coins, all of them and loops hundreds of times. I hold it up in the air and move away from the location and nothing helps. I can stand on a concrete road and hold it 6 feet in the air and it doesn't stop. Once in awhile it will correct it's self. Has anyone else had this happen?? I haven't gotten the head unit wet. So I don't understand. I put the coil in water before, but only half way up the stem maximum.

It could be a number of things. Electrical interference from cell phones, microwave towers, radio stations, and some others. Check your battery connections or even change batteries. One bad one can mess you up. On the water thing, it might not be water in the coil as much as a nick in the cable, also make sure your connection is tight. Water can travel up the stem if you raise the coil higher than the controls.

This is one reason many of us have moved away from Bounty Hunter though I think it might be a bum rap. :icon_scratch:

Good Luck

Hmm alright I will check on your suggestions. I did have a cell phone in my pocket both times it did it, so maybe that is causing it? Thanks!
