How do yall clean gold/silver/bronze/brass?

How do y'all clean gold/silver/bronze/brass?

I was just curious as to how y'all cleaned these things - I don't want to accidentally corrode something I find.

So far I've been using water and a soft brush. Was tempted to use some cleaning products but had no idea exactly what kind of metal I was dealing with.

Depending of what the item is, different methods are used.

Gold jewelry can be cleaned with the soft brush and water and later polished with a jewelers cloth. The same cloth can be used to polish Silver, bronze and brass. If the item is really old, I wouldn't clean it at all as that would lower it's value.
