Detecting in Independence

Does anyone know of any good places to metal detect in independence missouri? I can't really find any. Thanks!

Heck, I grew up there in the 50's. 40 Hiway an Blue Ridge Cutoff across from the HiBoy...... Anywhere within 5 miles of downtown Indep would be good.

My g'g'grandparents use to drive their wagon with produce(late 1800's)out Kentucky ave to the intersection with the old Indep Rd(24hwy) and sold the produce to the people coming from FT Osage.That corner (nw) is still grass covered. Fairmount city park,the edges especially.Check where the old Sugar Creek ferry use to be,the James' even used this ferry.Go to the old court house and do a little research.Goodluck.
