Will a whites xlt pick up a gold coin in the coin mode? thinks jt gold

Sorry to sound so cryptic, but the answer is maybe, depending on denomination.
I know my XLT will not pick up a silver 3 cent or half dime silver piece in coin mode.
it will pick up the 3 cent in coin and jewelry, have not tested a half dime.
I may have been the conditions and both coins are very small.

i think it is blocked out in the coin program.got to find a custom program and download it then it will except them low numbers
