a little girl came up and asked what I was looking for. I replied " anything that I can find" she looked at me for a second and then asked "Are you a cop?"

I thought that was strange for a 10 year old.

i am always asked crazy questions. what ya doin? (looking for a lost land mine) is that a metal hunter? ( no it's a weed whacker) do you ever find anything? (no but it's great exercise) do you ever find dead bodies? (well yeah, i just pick off the jewelry and keep on goin') and the smart mouth little kid. hey mister you can't find crap! and five seconds later i popped out a franklin half. shut that kid up.

There are no stupid Questions.

only stupid answers from those who don't like to be asked Questions.
or those in a strange mood.

However that is the most irritating Question I receive.

my answer is always "No there is no detector that tells
you what is in the ground. some will give you a good Idea of
what may be there, but untill you dig you will never know."

while water hunting been asked...is that waterproof, are you looking for sea shells, does that locate clams. will that thing shock you if you touch it while in the saltwater.does it find only metal or will it find gold also,I shold have wrote down alll the things I have been ask over the past 2 years some were hard to believe but I have always tried to answer with a straight face.

See if it will pick up the bullet in my back and my favorite I take lithium pills see if it will pick them up. Then the guy raises his shirt as if he wants me to scan his stomach.

Once many years ago a couple of friends and I were hunting the BAD side of town in Toledo, we were hunting burnt out homes from the 1800's in the Old West end, when a woman looked out her window and yelled. "you aren't going to look for evidence in my yard". After I told her who and what we were doing she laughed and said go ahead, you can search my yard to.

My strangest question ever asked was by a guy, he asked, "can you give me a ride to the liquor store when your done".

I waited him out for sure. He finally left and boy was my wife mad that I was over 2 hours late getting home.

worst one asked from me was when i first started detecting. elderly woman that lived by the local park. everyone in town knew her. you know the one that calls the cops if you get to close to her street. she came all the way over to the park to tell me to leave and had the nerve to asked if i found a lot of kids lost money and didnt i feel like trash taking it? My reply was lady i am not after kids money i came looking for the bullets to my gun i lost out here. Needless to say 5 minutes later the cops showed up. After i told them what happened they laughed. (seems they were fond of her wasted calls all the time either. One policeman suggested next time she bugs me i should ignore her. His partner howerver had the right idea he suggested i start slobbering and roll around on the grass and roll my eyes in my head. LOL
