Today I got the "this is all you think about" trip from the fiance. I chose these hobbies because she likes it and the kids seem to but it now seems that I am addicted to treasure and gold!

Is this bad? Should I be concerned?

I have been thinking that I should get an RV so we can go places to do this for vacations. I know for a fact if she dug a gold ring while MDing or if she panned out a couple flakes of gold we would be buying the RV and full family set up.

Before I advocated a plant to someone taking a vacation to wife to allow a MD on the tip. I am thinking this might be a great idea..........Is this wrong?

Oh and hun if you read this it not me its some other guy!

That's my plan.
I lived in 34' motorhome with slideout for a few years and loved it! But now im settled down. Just think of all the places you could detect out in the middle of nowhere along barren routes. Detect during the day, camp out with the stars at night. Then hit the casino!!!!

Wow guys its not that bad.........normally when I go she goes with me (actually evertime) and I end up digging holes for everyone else.

she gets all of my time. Maybe I talk about it all the time because I dont do it that much. And only once have I gone by myself. Its not an attention thing.

i just moved to Atlanta from Columbus, Ohio. since you are in the Army have you ever hunted the Fort Hayes? Even tho it is an asphalt jungle now there must be some little nooks and crannies that have stuff.
Also, i had great luck at Blendon Woods metropark and the metropark in Reynoldsburg, cant remember the name now, has a golf course. i found 10 or so silver dimes there and a couple buffalo nickels. highbanks metropark never got me anything but clad, even though they found a 50 million year old fossil there.
Two other places were Camp Mary Horton on 23 and further north on the same road about 6 miles is the Camp Lazarus boy scout camp. i went to each about 5 times and found silver mercury dimes at both. Hope this helps. oh bty the i never had a problem at any of thes places but the two camps always ask permission. the guy at lazarus is named chuck. a caretaker

I think your all wrong...

Hell, I'd go out and buy a new 2008 Ford 350 extended cab then start renting 5th wheel trailers until I found one that fit the bill...

Then I'd give the honey 20 bucks so she can buy some fabric material for making the window drapes.

When the (your) swelling of the eyes goes away, Tell her you were kidding...and give her another 5 bucks :tard:

Lets see, I'd have about $40K into the truck and another $35K or so in the trailer, $2K in a new MD....just so I can get my knees dirty picking up pull tabs and a few pennies. Then I could sit around the camp fire sipping a beer and telling all of my new found friends how great life is.

Well you could start bar hopping and getting drunk all the time. The minute she complains about it (which should only be a nano second) stop immediately and go back to metal detecting. She'll welcome it. :tongue3: Point being, there are far worse things you could be out doing. :tongue3:
Did that and then went tractor-trailer truckin for months at a time for a number of years. Now she and I MD ,hunt and fish with grandkids.
When kids and I come in all we hear is wipe your feet and clean what you found.I'm glad I'm home.

Well so far I like Stefen's answer the best...... I have been looking at RV's and I thought I would buy a old 79' chevy blazer behind it. (a really rough looking one)

The after she rides around in that for a while she will let me drop 35k on an F250.
