As I see it, I try to refrain from telling Bounty Hunter people to just get a new detector as the fault isn't with the machine as the settings. Most land and some water detectors have trouble in the wet sand and much of your trouble can be corrected with just turning down the sensitivity and the gain if you have that control. Sometimes even this doesn't help because of the addition of lots of black sand mixed with the wet saltwater sand.
