They can be very productive,especially the larger rivers.A man recently found a bone fish hook on the Missouri sand bar that's worth big $.Pottery can also be found..

sand bar is a good idea as a sandbar is usually created by current or storms
a sand bar can be a great collector of shells and waste (so to speak)
think of it as a net
