Gold Ring?

I found this ring in a tot lot, there is no writing on it. Do all gold rings have the K value on them? How can I tell if it is gold?

a jeweler can test it for you using nitric acid. i found a ring just like that a fewe weeks ago. too bad for me it was plated. hopefully yours is not!

even if it was a crappy 2 dollar children's ring from walmart I would still be excited... I doubt I'll ever find a ring at this rate.
