    Found on Texas Beach

Iíve posted this object in the rocks forum several months ago. Thought Iíd post here to pick your brains.
This was found on Crystal Beach in Texas (Gulf of Mexico). Caught our eye every time the tide would go out. Thought it had an interesting shape to it so kept it.

Looks like a worn down effigy. You might want to cross post it in the North American Artifacts forum.

Itís not a shell. Almost like a clay/terra cotta feel to it. Not heavy at all. It seems carved. Almost has a feline look about it.

Could be the trace fossil of what had been a burrow. Crayfish, worm, etc. The silt filled the hole and mineralized differently that the surrounding sand.

America was founded by tough hell-raisers. Rugged citizens who evaded taxes, spoke strongly against tyranny, grew tobacco, brewed beer, distilled spirits, and smuggled weapons. And it will be saved by those same types of citizens.
