    Large standing grooved boulder by streamside

    going through last summer's pictures; was my first time coming across it. of note are the atypical "darkened" tones of the cobbles laying about (only one photo, regrettingly):

    it's likely the banks in this pictured segment have eroded up to twice the width they would have been prior to settlement, when the channel would've been deeper. will surely revisit.

    Water erosion caused the groove when the rock was in situ on the shore line. Very common. Gary
