I'm already using OKM's eXp 4000. The device seems to work fine for me so far. Right now I'm not a specialist or so but I like this kind of detector. It's not that easy like a noisy metal detector but after getting familiar with this type of equipment it just fine.

Sometimes I have some troubles to analyze the graphics in the right way but I'm working on it. It's getting better and better.

Yep, OKM stuff works. Overpriced, but they do work.

We regularly use an OKM I-160 and have detected tunnels down to 5 metres, underground structures to 25 and 6.5 respectively.

Be aware that they only work well on OLD items which have been buried due to the magnetics. We buried a piece of iron sheeting and ten minutes later we ran the I-160 over it and had only the smallest of hits. I have scanned a piece of 65 year old rebar at the same depth as the sheet was buried and the thing went off its nut even though the iron sheet was much bigger than the rebar.

I have tested my eXp 5000 on a known void. Here you can see my results. The blue color shows the void. Maybe it helps you. I just can say, I was impressed and for me it works perfect.

    Hello Folks,

Frank Casser here, and I just wanted to throw out that though there is no perfect instrument made, if there were I would be jumping all over it. The OKM equipment has had many many published finds. Although it can be quite be expensive depending on what options you wish to have, I personally use a Rover C II built in 2003 and is still running flawless.

If anyone out there is desiring training on the unit, before a series of unfortunate events, I ran Future Treasure and conducted all the training. I can assist anyone in the operation of the OKM equipment and software.

As for any detector, there are always going to be certain soil conditions that enhance signals and also attenuate signals. cassbiz@gmail.com

Yes, it does seem as though they are expensive...

Should always use the best tools you can afford if they get the results you are looking for.

If you can succeed with les, more power to you!

Primarily I have used the OKM detection equipment to locate pipes and other buried utilities. This method ensures that the equipment indeed does work and also keeps up the training with the equipment.

    Re: about o.k.m

We have purchased rover deluxe and its expensive. until today we have difficulties in using the equipment as its doesnt show the result consistently on the scanned area.CONSISTENCY is a must when using any of the equipment.try to set your equipment on a fix discriminator say at ( 5 ) gold , silver, bronze, and aluminum.scan an area say 10m by 10 m using a fix setting ( no.pulse, per line, do a contant soil reconciliation, maintaining a fix contact distance from the ground and so on) do this several times say 10 times....does it show consistent results or out of 10 how many show consistencythis equipment is sucks!!! grrr *&%55e4 grrr. im really disappointed. with that price compared to other brand i really expect the best. let me know if you experince the same thing.il il tell you some more.

    Re: about o.k.m

Hi all. Gosh I just thought about one of the major problems that users are having with the OKM equipment.

When you are looking for buried objects, it is important that you look for the hole first. If you are looking for the object in the hole you may be surprised that you cannot see it in the software regardless of how much filtering you do. Here is why. If an object is buried 2m (6') deep the picture the size of the hole which was required to bury it. The hole is going to be quite large and will (should) be easy to see.

(Look at the scan above for the known void to see what a hole looks like.)

Once you locate the hole and want to see if there is something in it then scan the hole itself because the background values received may actually filter out the content of the hole. So in a simpler term, find the edges of the hole and scan inside the hole itself.

Again in any scan, DO NOT TURN OR ROTATE THE UNIT FOR IT WILL GIVE YOU FALSE READINGS.

    Thanks, hope this helps.

I am very sorry, but with this device you will not get clear resuts. Where you buy it?
