Polite procedures for MD schools, parks in Georgia.

I've seen a lot of people in the New Finds mention schools and parks as places they MD. Who do you contact to get permission to do that? The school's Princpal? How about the parks? Or are they both considered public land (like beaches)? Don't want to get arrested or even yelled at. Thanks in advance.

I may have found the answer to my own question. From Fisher website:

City or County Park Lands -- Most are open to metal detecting unless notice is given by a sign or city ordinance. When in doubt, always check with the city's Parks and Recreation Department.

Public School Grounds -- Most are open to metal detecting unless notice is given by a sign, city ordinance, law enforcement official, or school employee. You should always check with the school office first.

And the Georgia law mention in another post only applies to STATE parks and historical sites.
