Washington Hunter headed to Georgia

Well it looks like I will be at Fort gordon, Georgia around the 10th of October. I am helping relocate my brother to his new post. He is flying over to Seattle and then we are driving to his new post. I don't have certain dates yet but I know I fly home on the 15th. I would like to do a little relic hunting while there. I am looking for info on the Augusta area, and maybe someone to hunt with who knows the area. I would be happy to find a couple bullets. Anything will help.

jujube , you will be in a prime hunting area when you get to Savannah. As you know, Sherman took Savannah and then proceeded NW towards Columbia, SC. There were several skirmishes just on the SC side of the Savannah River...Check out some of the maps of his trek from Savannah and you should have some luck. Good luck and tell your brother to get some skeeter repellent..Have fun and GL.
