    Now we're locking legitimate discussions?

I can understand why the thread about Politics was locked, but the thread "There is SERIOUSLY a friggin' "global warming" form here" was not political until some of the "anti-politics" and "anti-free thought" bunch showed up.

Some of the members who posted derogatory statements have made posts in other sections of the TREASURENET FORUMS that - IMHO - are literally OBSCENE statements. Some only trying to skirt the rules and other outright filthy. People are not allowed to speak that way on their jobs, and if a supervisor spoke that way, well, he would end up before a judge in a civil lawsuit for sexual harassment. I've actually seen it happen for less offensive speech than was in that other section.

Now, back to the topic at hand: I was curious which particular posts do you as "the management" find offensive? Which "words" crossed the line? Which thoughts did YOU find outlandish and off topic?

When you answer those questions for yourself (you needn't answer here or even in PM, they are rhetorical questions - questions to prompt thought) you may well find that the persons who tried to turn the thread political are the exact ones who complain about there being politics in threads.

Global warming or the lack thereof are legitimate topics for discussion. Why? We can't change it if it is or isn't . . . so why discuss it?

Well, quite simply --- the weather affects EVERY SINGLE FORM OF TREASURE HUNTING. Even coin roll hunting can be affected by the weather. Could flooding caused by global warming or the lack thereof delay the Wells Fargo truck or whoever in your region delivers for the mint?

In addition, if MMGW were real (yep I am NOT convinced it is real) then it will affect how and where some of us hunt. Higher sea levels would affect some detectorists, while making it more fun for those equipped to do underwater detecting.

On the other hand, if MMGW is not real (now we're talking reality) then the costs to each and every one of us to prepare for a fantasy of a greedy mad man is going to take away from our ability to financially support our hobby.

Science is discussed here. Without science there would be no metal detectors, no two box detectors, no computers, no internet and thus no Treasurenet.

Some members who had previously been active on this forum before the exposing of the collusion of some scientists trying to make a few extra billion bucks are surprised that the forum is still here as the lies of the scientists promoting the fear has been exposed. There have been other threads wondering why this subject is still here. I personally am glad it is here.

Education, exchange of ideas (we have had some legitimate discussions from BOTH sides of the issue) and sometimes even just shooting the breeze (no no, wait, we weren't using firearms - just talking! It's an idiom.) We have also had some heated discussions but they all stay in this forum. No enemies, just differing understanding of what data there is.

I also believe that there is something seriously wrong with this world,i feel we are going through a climate change. Not to mention the solar storms that will be approaching soon.

I won't dare disagree with that thought. I believe that climate change is going on, but do you believe that humans or nature (sun, etc) are responsible?

I can understand that for those who believe that humans are responsible (MMGW), then they would naturally believe that humans could reverse (if not completely then to some degree) the process.

I believe that, to whatever extent our climate is changing, it is simply the result of changes that are NOT caused by man or even remotely within his realm to alter.

My thread was not political. It was pointing out that global warming, as it's being discussed here, is political. Just read the threads.
And why? Because global warming has become a political issue in our world. I don't like that fact, but it is a fact no less.
So to put out such a board and then tell people to keep politics out of it, especially on this forum, is sort of like dangling a carrot in front of a rabbit.
    It's asking for trouble.

So where was I talking politics? Yet my thread was locked.

I think the problem really starts when people dare "question" a moderation decision. It's like dealing with a bully cop.
There is no level field for disagreement. They will "silence you." It's been admitted.

    Coward move.

"NOT caused by man or even remotely within his realm to alter. "

This came from Chadeaux and I am offended by its religiousity.

I believe his religious beliefs are the true force behind his MMGW beliefs.

First, when you quote someone, the gentlemanly thing to do is include where you found the quote so that others can confirm whether that is what was said. Unfortunately, my statement does not back up your accusation . . . so I'll help to clear things up:

You don't know me, and already throwing the "religious" tag on me?? You are trying to incite me to retaliation, but it will not work. There is absolutely NOTHING religious in any of those statements. If so, please be so decent as to clarify.

It is not within the realm of human beings to control the sun, therefore it is not within their realm to alter the climate. Simple, concise, and DEFINITELY NOT religious. The Sun will do what the Sun will do.

You sir are an example of someone trying to start trouble where there is none. You immediately throw out tags to bait me into going outside of common decency. You are trying to trick the moderators into locking the thread and accuse me of something I did not do or say.

STOP BEING SUCH A BULLY! STOP BEING A LIAR! You wouldn't want Tnet to perceive you as a threat should something happen to me or someone else you try to push around as their allowing you to continue on that path would make them financially liable.

What I said is exactly what I meant and there is absolutely NO religious intent or belief associated with it . . . unless the Sun is your deity, but I won't apologize for my statement. If you believe so (your words sure indicate that you do), then sir it would be YOU who is inserting religion - not I.

You have brought religion into this thread, even though you know it is FORBIDDEN!

The section was removed because it created arguments and anger. It was not a benefit to the site, only a negative.

We ask that you respect our rules.

I am posting this here because there have been a few individuals trying to get the political and religious sections going again and that will not happen. Please keep political type discussions out of this section, that's not why it's here.

I'm afraid, my darling little "troll wannabe", that you are quite mistaken --- as is anyone else who believes I have been anything but CIVIL in this conversation, INCLUDING any MODERATORS.

If a moderator has a problem with my statements, put on your big girl pants and PM me with the offending statement and WHY it is you find it offensive rather than posting in the open forum implying that I have done something wrong.

It should be noted that Global Warming is every bit as volatile a subject as Religion or Politics. I'd pose the question to the powers that be "Why should this forum be on a Treasure Hunting website?"

Until a few malcontents began trying to stir the water this was a QUIET LITTLE CORNER of the forum. Now, all the sharks are circling wanting to destroy something they can't understand.

If they get rid of everything you guys don't like (betcha a dollar you haven't been here before), will you be happy then or will you next turn to WHO you don't like until you are the only 10 or 12 people left here?

I mean, if you weren't stalking KK, Dave and Diggit, you would have never known this part of the forum even existed!

Now the STALKING of other members really should be stopped. Don't you think it's rather childish?
