Show me where on the planet that the ocean temperature is not increasing.
Prove to me that global warming is not happening, is not happening at an accelerated pace and if you believe it is happening
then it is not caused by human activities.
Prove that MMGW is false, is " not in man's realm " and is a myth created by thousands of scientists to make "billions".

Dave, let's leave the trolls to themselves.
The baiting is being done in an effort to close this portion of the forum down with their personal attacks.
As for the first post, we need to remember that weather and climate --- while related --- are different. BTW, yesterday there were snow flurries in Scotland.
While the scientific evidence (when taken as a whole and not cherrypicked) does show a downward trend earthwide it is not longterm enough to say much. Conflicting data is what we discuss in this forum along with differing opinions or interpretations about that data.
Weirblier can give you lots of evidence to show his side of the story Jeff, if you'd like to get a better handle on the subject. And yes, I do give Weirblier (hope I'm spelling his name correctly) a hard time on occasion. However, I do respect his opinions and they are based in the current popular scientific camp, I just don't always agree with them.

And on that note have you heard about the huge, non man made solar flare happening right now? Could be disruptive. A few of those might even melt that snow in Scotland.

The data that is out there is very "microscopic" when compared to the tiny window of modern day data collection and record keeping. What isn't being mentioned are all the first hand historical accounts of what we would perceive today as being, "alarming signs of doom" instead of the "cyclical trends" that have frequented this planet long before we ever started accumulating modern data. Like anything else "change" always stirs debate, discomfort, and panic.....not to mention new industry, a ton of various reports, and lots and lots of data, theories, and most of all, speculation and controversy.

Exactly Bigscoop! remember my trip? It is next week. Could you put a little warmth and sun on the calender for me?
Possibly even get the water temp to rise a couple of degrees? Maybe if we join hands and chant we can believe it into being warmer!!
See you there!

Hi Jeff . . . there were some folks on here arguing a couple days ago about how we needed to shut this down. Then the trolls hit, and well --- I kinda thought it looked like things did just before the politics and religion forums got shut down. Take a look at the locked threads.

If the mods would just ban the trolls, it would make things much better. The trolls are very easy spot. They don't talk about detecting, they only come to this area to cause trouble and stir the pot. Ban them, ban thier IP, and let the rest have normal debate.

That's a good question Jeff. I think I can (so a small extent) define what I think a troll is. If you follow someone across topic and always have something negative to say about them and their ideas and opinions, you may be a troll. Usually, they just latch on uninvited to someone who may have strong opinions and then just lay in wait to make personal attacks designed to provoke their "crush". It's not unlike a stalker. There are others who just can't wait to disagree with everyone and make derogatory statements about everyone for the purpose of provoking a hostile response. Couple of old members come to mind . . . but they never stalked me . . . only because I was a lurker and not a member.

in some of these cases humor could be mistaken for sarcasm.
I know there are some mornings I wake up & Find humor in the strangest places.
Sometimes I respond & later regret it, sometimes I Don't regret it.
sometimes I want to say something but realize "no can't say that"
just saying, if someone already has a formed opinion of you or me,
and that opinion is not good, odds are they would take our Humor as troll like, right ?
anyway, I guess what I'm saying is I like to be 100% sure before I Label someone troll.
Would rather label them Pain in my Backside

My wife says that my humor is "an acquired taste". So I have come to expect that others don't always see as funny what I do.
I have gotten there honestly though. It comes from years of dealing with the world's bottom feeders . . . the "for hire" legal profession.
And the following statement isn't political (sorry if it sounds that way) but here goes:
NO terrorist organization is as dangerous to our freedoms as our money grubbing judicial system. PERIOD!

i think if the earth can recover from a major volcanic eruption, what we throw at it is not going to do enough to affect the climate.

Rex, volcanoes only emit about 0.3 Billion tonnes of CO2 / year worldwide; whereas human activity is about 100 times as much at 29 Billion tonnes and
increasing.
I hope this is not construed as a conspiracy of the trolls
