Solar storms have little or any effect as they are short lived. From the above, one lasted 30 minutes.
What's more important is the huge volume of beef that Americans and the western world consume.
Did you know that transport systems around the world make up 13% of global greenhouse gases? That may sound like a lot, but livestock farming make up 18%. That's right — livestock production is responsible for more greenhouse gases than every single car, bus, train, plane, tractor and scooter put together.

We have had solar flares ever since the sun started to shine. On occasion it does send out a particularly high emp at the earth. Most of the time it does little damage as our magnetic shiled partially lessens its effect, but sometimes it can and does do damage, especaially to electric and or electronic lines and equipment. If a strong enough storm hits the earth, it could knock out the grid all over the world. Nothing electric or electronic would work, except whatever was shielded from the emp storms. Any metal box, even a trashcan or barrel with a lid can shield sensitive electronic equipment from potential emp damage. Dec.21,2012 will align the sun and planets with the center of the galaxie and its large black hole, what effects that will bring remain to be seen. If it magnifies the effect, we could see very strong emp storms. Good Luck rockhound

Emp storms are not the same as weather storms and have no bearing on the climate.
