My dad is friends with a guy who just tried to start a mining association called the All In Mining Association. They acquired a bunch of claims in southern Oregon and some in northern California. A big chunk of them in southern Oregon belonged to a railroad company back in the gold rush days and it was off limits to miners (they did find some remnants of a couple old camps from miners who snuck in).

Anyways, I don't know the exact history off hand. It seems the guys were having problems with the government and decided to donate the claims to the gpaa as long as the members got lifetime membership with the gpaa.

Needless to say, my father and I got in to the all in mining association for free, so now I guess were lifetime members of the gpaa. Hmmmm :headbang:
