Found this on a new claim

Found this tree and it's root system over an old gravel bar on a claim I just filed. The root is big and very different. I would assume that this hasn't been worked anytime lately.

I ran two tanks of gas through the 4" not far from this spot and got this.

10 to 15 Feet tops. I think in the one pic you can see the water off to the right.

Can you trench to it? Or build a trough to the water?

Amen Russau,massive root been there for 100's a years ,get out the detector and test,test,and do more testing. Pumping water is no problem for that dredge pump but err on the side a caution ifn' ya can't afford the fines-John

I can get both dredge and trommel to that spot without a lot of work. I was just there and was able to dredge certain spots with my 4" and that was during the last week of dredge season when the water was pretty low. I think I can get right to it with the dredge if I hit it on the first week of the season when the water is higher. Might go back and take the trommel.
