Spray painting pans?

I was just wanting to know if it would be possible to spray paint a pan and still have it function well. I have a black pan, but it is hard to see the black sand which I like to keep. I was thinking of painting my black pan a blue or green, and then buy a small 10 in. pan to put it in at the end.

ive heard people doing this and was going todo one of my pans to see how it works on really fine stuff. but all that material would need to be screened and use it only as a cleanup pan,otherwise i dont see any advantage to it.

For a few times the cost of a can of spray paint, I think I'd go with a Garrett 'Backpacker' or 'SuperSluice' pan, you really can't go wrong with them.
