Just arrived in Trinidad Colorado at the Pergatory River. According to the locals, there is a place 30 miles west of town on hwy 12 called the "Potato Patch" where people go camping and prospecting. Looking for someone going there who has a vehicle. Have money for gas and food. The nearest grocery store to the Potato Patch is 15 miles away. So backpacking in really isn't realistic. Does anyone know what can be found there ? Micro gold ? Fines ? Small nuggets ? If you've had at experience with this location, i'd like to hear from you.

I would like to see what you recovered from your trip. I am somewhat familar with the area - I do some 4 Wheeling down that way on occasion. There were lode gold mines in the general area.
