You might check in with Prospectors Plus in Gold Bar. They have a store, lots of area to prospect, lots of good equipment, and lots of great people to help out. Where in Wa are you? Doug.

I live in kitsap county. New to prospecting, but learning quickly. I joined GPAA and attended the western Washington meeting in Port Orchard last Saturday.

Prospectors Plus is having an outing in Liberty next weekend that they're calling Dredge Camp. Dredging season opens so they're going to be running dredges there. If you get over that way tell them I sent you. Doug.

You might want to check out bedrock Prospectors. They are in the Tacoma area and have claims scattered over blewett pass, the index area and the natchez river. a good group of folks there. Look them up on the web.

Gold Prospectors association of America(GPAA). They have some chapters in Washington. But there are more organizations around. I only went with the GPAA because my father-I law is a member.

I have an old friend who belongs to Prospectors Plus. He had a lot of luck last year up around Liberty on some,of their claims.

Cool. Haven't done the beach stuff yet in WA. Is the HPA required still? I think I remember reading an article a while back when WA opened up beach prospecting to a limited number of folks. Not sure what the laws are now though.

I found a little bit of flour gold and flakes in the Miller River area up by Grotto. It's small but it was colorful at least. Here's a poor picture.

Little color in the pan.

Faxed in my papers in a week ago Monday. Got the HPA today.
There are only certain spots open on the coast.
If you do apply for the HPA mark all the equipment and spaces open. The permit( it is free) is good for 5 years. The people I have talked to said even if you do not own the equipment yet you might.

Go into the WA dept of fish and game and look for permits then look for a JARPA form. That's the one you fill out for your permit. Doug.
