Ahhh, home. If only the gold bug had bit me while I lived there. I would be willing to bet if you hopped over into Bridger Canyon you could find some gold in the small creeks running down the mountains there. I did a ton of trout fishing all over those mountains and remember a lot of good places where the bedrock was right at the surface. I don't recall ever seeing any claim markers but then I may not have recognized them if I had.

There is a lot of private land down low but most of the mountains are National Forest. Pick a creek and see what you can find.

Other option would be go up in the Crazy Mountains. Lots of ground there.
