    Socal prospecting

Anyone know of any areas/creeks.. Ect that are near the LA area? I like the mojave, east fork.. Piru creek. Any new places around the area to go play in the dirt. There has to be other places... I live in Simi Valley area and sure be nice to have a place closer by to prospect. The gas prices are killing me.. Thanks all.

With the gas prices as high as they are, there are a lot
of us that are sticking pretty close to home base. GL

Im not in the socal area but GN is right, gas prices make me stick close to home.
The spot we have been working isnt even 15 miles from my house, the spots I would love to hit but have not this year because of high gas prices are much further out.
One is only about 30 miles away but its off of Trinity Mtn Rd which is a slow paced, winding, mostly dirt logging road and the other is off the Trinity River not to mention I would love to hit the Black Sands beach just for fun.

    Research and occasional field work
Visiting my sister and was taken out to Azusa and then up a road into the mountains to Camp Crystal Lake. Saw some people panning in a creek on the way up. Don't know if they found anything, but it sure looked cool. Was told that people do get gold. Hope this helps?

I'm here in Tujunga. Not too far past the end of the 118. If you'd like I can give you some spots where you can get color. It's pretty small though. Not sure you can pick it up with the Gold Bug

    Let me know.
