I just started getting into prospecting this last summer but didn't start finding anything till the fall. In minnesota gold prospectors are a small but growing group of hobbists its very doubtful any of us will get rich off of it but its a great fun outdoor activity. Here is a pic of what 2 hours of panning turned up in a metro area creek before the snow hit.

Sweet! And you said "metro" does that mean you only have to travel a few minutes from the house? I so, even better!

Even finding a few specks would be fun. Although the thought has crossed my mind in the past, I just don't have the desire to start doing it. I have no lack of hobbies
