Oh My! That was quite an adventure, any idea of what they were mining: gold, silver..................63bkpkr

They were mining gold mainly, opened in the late 1800s. Was a very productive mine in NM and several people were murdered in attempt to get the claim. We are going there camping next weekend. In the forest not very far from this (50yds) is an outcropping or quartz. Also some turquoise mines nearby.
